Catch Heather Lee on air on every edition of CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan, reporting the latest Country and entertainment news. Her distinct voice and keen wit pop from the radio with a smile you can hear!
Heather caught the radio bug at the tender age of 17, and began her career playing heavy metal tunes at a college station in Concord, California. Heather quickly realized that it was quite difficult to maintain a nice “do” by head-banging, so she was off and running with gigs in Monterey, Fresno, Sacramento and San Francisco, California playing everything from the Backstreet Boys to the Bee Gees to Brooks and Dunn. In addition to spinning the hits, the entertainment diva has lit up the tube, with stints on the Game Show Network and local affiliates for ABC, Fox and the CW in California’s Capital City. When she’s not reporting the dirt on CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan, Heather is an avid writer and huge fan of man’s best friend, spending lots of time with her “wingman”- an 8 year old Border Collie named Guinness. A staunch supporter of charity, she serves as a local board member for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and is always willing to walk, talk and fund-raise for organizations like the American Cancer Society and the Children’s Miracle Network.
Watch out! Heather is a Scorpio with a wild streak, but keeps it in check through the wonders of sewing, baking, cooking, gardening, classic Martina McBride, Luke Bryan, Justin Moore, the Band Perry and a continual stream of java. Heather bleeds red, white and blue and loves the USA. In fact, if you skim through her DVR don’t be surprised to find multiple episodes of Cops, Judge Joe Brown or any show that features the American justice system in action.
Cory is an Associate Producer and the Technical Director for CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan. Outside of keeping the live show running on schedule, Cory is a chief writer as well, who handles the English language with skill and brilliant creativity.
Cory is a Pennsylvania native, but has always considered Nashville his home, and finally at age 26, he made the move from Altoona, PA to Music City USA. Along the path to making this dream a reality, Cory got himself through college at Penn State University, by working his way through the ranks at a local country radio station, Froggy 98. As his alter ego,“Davey Croakit,” Cory worked overnights, Saturday nights, and any shift that came his way on the air, and soaked up as much radio knowledge as one could handle. He also played the role of station mascot, Mr. Froggy, taking on his biggest challenge ever, not talking while wearing the costume!
Upon arriving in Nashville, Cory worked every job that became available, including retail at the Opryland Hotel, beer vendor at Titans football games, and yes, karaoke host at a nightclub downtown, until the right opportunity came his way. He found his passion for writing, working on a radio prep service, where he interviewed artists, edited sound bites and shared the latest country music news with radio stations nationwide. Three years later, he was lucky enough to land at CMT, and became Associate Producer/Technical Director of CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan.
In his downtime, Cory enjoys cheering on the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans, attending concerts, frequenting the local comedy club and singing karaoke anywhere he can find a live mic!
Dustin Stout is an Associate Producer on the show. Dustin scours the news and entertainment dirt daily to find the most interesting video, audio, and stories for online and on air, too. If it’s the CMTcody.com website, Facebook or even our Twitter teases, you can bet Dustin is behind it! He even produces each day’s CMT 0-60 video updates with Cody.
Dustin is a small-town native who’s always had big-time country music ambitions. Originally from Henderson, Tennessee, Dustin made the move to Nashville in 2008 to attend Belmont University. There, Dustin studied the music business and eventually landed in the field of journalism, where he found his niche in entertainment writing.
Throughout college, Dustin worked odd jobs writing for blogs, manning residence hall floors as a Resident Assistant at Belmont and even scooping ice cream at the local shop. But his focus never wavered from a passion for storytelling in front of the microphone and behind it. For four years, Dustin wrote entertainment features for the university’s online media source and eventually took on the role as producer and host of Belmont’s longest-running weekly broadcast series. Meanwhile, exposure to a breathing country music and entertainment organization as an intern at CMT Radio pointed Dustin in a new direction. Two years of soaking in as much industry knowledge as possible eventually helped him to land a job at CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan.
Personally, Dustin is a big brother, an Oprah addict and a lover of all-things chocolate. When he’s not working, Dustin can either be found shopping at Target or spending quality time with friends and family. On Dustin’s DVR, you may find the occasional episode of his guilty TV pleasures The View and Teen Mom.
