The country tour titan, who recently announced he won’t hit the road in 2014, wrapped his summer stadium trek in front of more than 100,000 people this weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
“There’s energy, and then there’s energy,” Kenny says. “The fans in Boston have always been very, very special to us. These were our 10th and 11th shows at Gillette; every year, it just gets more intense.”
Tour mates Eric Church, Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves each joined Kenny on stage for a song.
A Super Bowl-style banner was hung permanently near an end zone to commemorate the naming of the No Shoes Nation in 2012.
Before he takes a break in 2014, Kenny will perform at Zac Brown Band’s Southern Ground Music and Food Festival in Nashville on Sept. 27 and 28.
