Kenny Chesney tells The Hollywood Reporter he won’t tour at all next year.
“I love touring more than anyone in the world,” Kenny says. “I love the band, the crew, the whole team — and it’s weird to not be looking at next year’s stage design, but I shouldn’t make albums to service the tour. So I’m going to put the music first, dial it back and do the strangest thing in the world: not hit the road next summer.”
This break marks the second time since 2001 that Kenny hasn’t hit the road.
Instead, he’ll focus on his bread and butter.
“Music is the reason I do all of it,” he says, “so right now…I think that’s what I should be exploring.”
Once it wraps, the country megastar will have played for an estimated 1.25 million people on his 42-stadium stop No Shoes Nation Tour, which takes over the GeorgiaDome in Atlanta this weekend.
