Oscars Recap: The Show Spreads the Love

Many of the year’s biggest films took home trophies during last night’s Oscars.The Ben Affleck-directed Argo won “Best Picture,” along with two other prizes.
Les Miserables also won three Oscars, while Django Unchained and Skyfall each took two. But it was Life of Pi that won the most Academy Awards with a total of four.
Daniel Day-Lewis took the “Best Actor” nod for his role in Lincoln, while Jennifer Lawrence’s Silver Linings Playbook role won her “Best Actress.”
As expected, Anne Hathaway took home top honors as “Best Supporting Actress” in Les Miserables, and in a not-so-expected win, Christoph Waltz of Django Unchained won “Best Supporting Actor.”
At this weekend’s box office, Identity Thief stole the top spot at the box office this weekend, while first-weekend entrances Snitch, A Good Day to Die Hard and Dark Skies trailed. See the full list below.

9. “Side Effects,” $3.6 million.
10. “Beautiful Creatures,” $3.4 million, ($4 million international).
