Kelly Clarkson Fires Back at Former Mentor
Posted: Feb 20, 2013
Kelly Clarkson called out longtime record executive Clive Davis after she claims he “bullied her” in his new tell-all autobiography – now Clive is responding!Kelly first took issue with parts of Clive’s new book The Soundtrack of My Life in a lengthy response on her WhoSay page.
“First, he says I burst into ‘hysterical sobbing’ in his office when he demanded ‘Since You Been Gone’ be on my album. Not true at all,” Kelly says of her 2004 album Breakaway. “I cried because he hated [‘Because of You’] and told me verbatim that I was a ‘s–tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me.’”
Clive says he stands by the chapter in the book and that it was “fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis.”
He goes on to say he wishes “Kelly’s talent and her career to soar to ever new heights.”
The Soundtrack of My Life is available now.
