Tim McGraw dropped by Chelsea Lately this week and revealed why a night with legendary Bruce Springsteen has become one of the worst nights of his career.

The country superstar performed wife Faith Hill during the MusicCares Person of the Year gala this week honoring “The Boss,” but it was a performance with Bruce himself that brought the trouble for Tim.

“At the end, he called everyone on stage to do ‘Glory Days’ together,” Tim says. “Sting’s up there, Elton John, Zac Brown… some great, great musicians.”

The only problem?

Tim doesn’t know the words to “Glory Days.”

“I can’t hide in this cowboy hat, so Bruce says, ‘Tim, come sing the second verse to “Glory Days.”’ You don’t want to say that you don’t know the words at a function honoring someone who’s one of your heroes.”

But after he started the song late and the teleprompter scrolling the lyrics faulted, Tim eventually swallowed his pride and admitted he didn’t know the words.
