carrie-underwood-grammy-2013-performance.-2jpgCarrie Underwood’s show-stopping performance on the Grammys Sunday night gave a whole new meaning to “let there be light.”

Music’s biggest night may have been two nights ago now, but the secrets behind the light-up LED dress are only now being uncovered.

The 4-feet wide Theia gown was custom made for Carrie and required more than a whopping 100 yards of fabric.

“We wanted it to be artful and dramatic,” Carrie says. “I just like to stand still and sing sometimes, so this seemed like the best way I could do that and still create something visually attention-capturing.”

Carrie tells Extra! she was barefoot underneath the yards of fabric and standing on apple boxes. See the full interview below.

As far as where the dress goes now, Carrie joked backstage that she may take it home to watch movies on it!
