Just call CMT the matchmaker of bromances.

Since Luke Bryan and OneRepublic front man Ryan Tedder collaborated on last year’s CMT Artists of the Year special, the country superstar reveals he and Ryan have kept in contact with each other.

“He and I text quite often and check on each other,” Luke says in a new video. “It’s fun getting in that world.”

Ryan and Luke sung a medley of songs on the special, including a few OneRepublic tunes. Luke goes on to say he wouldn’t mind entering the pop territory a little more with his music.

“When I think about pop music, you never rule anything out in this business,” he says. “Their world isn’t much different than ours.”

Luke’s future ACM Awards co-host Blake Shelton has his own bromance in the pop world, of course, with his fellow coach on The Voice, Adam Levine of Maroon 5.
