• Regis In Talks To Host Daytime Sports Talk Show

regis-philbinRegis Philbin warned he wasn’t retiring when he left his spot on Live! in November of 2011, and now we may know why.

The longtime morning staple is reportedly in talks to host a new ensemble daytime talk show with Fox Sports, according to Sports Business Daily.

If the gig becomes official, Regis is said to become a part-time host.

Since Regis left Live!, he’s made guest appearances on TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland and made monthly visits to Rachel Ray’s daytime talk show.

He’s also filled in for the Today show’s Hoda Kotb, reuniting with his former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.

Regis was reportedly also in talks to return to his hosting role on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but that deal fizzled out due to scheduling conflicts.
