Miranda Lambert got two commitments when she tied the knot – one from her hubby and another from a country newcomer.

Miranda reveals she would have never gotten the green light to record her new single “Mama’s Broken Heart” if she hadn’t first caught up with friend – and the song’s co-writer – Kacey Musgraves at her wedding rehearsal dinner in 2011.

Miranda says, “I went over and asked her, ‘Are you gonna cut this song or can I have it?’ And she was like, ‘I’ll think about it for a couple of days.’”

Kacey, whose debut single “Merry Go ‘Round” is nearing the Top 10, penned “Mama’s Broken Heart” and had planned to include it on her debut album. But she eventually gave the green light for Miranda to record the song.

“She, as far as females go and songwriters really go in general is kind of the pinnacle right now in country music,” Kacey says in a new VEVO clip.

“Mama’s Broken Heart” has now become Miranda’s 14^th Top 30 single.
