When Keith Urban is away from his wife Nicole Kidman, he’s got another way to keep up with her: on his DVR.

Even though the new Idol judge is Down Under on his “The Story So Far” tour, he reveals how he still watched his wife on the recent SAG Awards red carpet.

“I was telling Nic before that when we finally got into Sydney,” he tells the Herald Sun. “I got to the house, flicked on the TV and I got to see my wife, I got to see what she was wearing.”

But still, watching his Hollywood actress better half on DVR doesn’t compare to actually being present in person.

“I hit pause on one shot and stood there staring at her…and started crying. I hated the fact she was there without me, on her own. Ridiculous, right?”

The love birds will be apart for a bit longer while Keith continues his Australian tour – but when Idol kicks off its live rounds in a few weeks, Nicole has said she’ll be around to watch!
