Country and pop powerhouse Kelly Clarkson serenaded the crowd from the U.S. Capitol with “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” before the ceremony.

“What an honor to be a part of history!” Kelly tweeted. “Obama’s presence was powerful and his words unforgettable. It’s a proud day for America!”

During the Inaugural Ball later in the evening, Brad Paisley performed his hit “American Saturday Night,” which happened to bring back memories of the time he, too, was president.

“This reminds me of when I was president of the 4-H club,” Brad joked from the stage. “It’s kind of the same.”
