George Strait kicked off his 2013 The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, and one member of the U.S. Marine Corps rode away with a new home!

Partway through the first show in Lubbok, Texas, the King introduced U.S. Marine Corps E-3/Lance Corporal Christopher Allen, the 287th recipient of the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s (MWSF) “Homes 4 Wounded Heroes.”

Allen received the key to his new home directly from George.

The country icon will give away 20 more 100 percent mortgage-free homes on the next 20 stops of his tour. The Cowboys Rides Away Tour rolls into Salt Lake City this Friday.

On his recent Brothers of the Sun Tour, Tim McGraw  partnered with HomeFront, in partnership with Chase, Operation Homefront and ACM Lifting Lives, and gave away a total of 25 homes.
