Nothing gets past the tight security stationed on a big country tour—not even big country stars.

Hunter Hayes revealed this week he often forgets to carry his credentials backstage at the Blown Away Tour with Carrie Underwood.

“I had just walked in from my meet-and-greet and I didn’t have it on because I was taking pictures with people. I walked towards my dressing room and I walk pass the security guard, and he stops me like, ‘No.’ I’m like, ‘It’s cool, I’m going to go to the bus – it’s cool.’ He is like, ‘No, I can’t let you do that.’ I was like, ‘That’s a problem! I don’t have my pass and I have to get to the bus!’ So it has been a fun little learning experience!”

The near-breach in security hasn’t kept Hunter from having a stellar year, recently capturing his first No. 1 with “Wanted” and even getting big Grammy and ACM nominations.

The second leg of the “Blown Away Tour” kicks off Feb. 13 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
