Keith Urban’s the Jokester in the ‘American Idol’ Fam

What’s Australian, country and stuck between two bickering divas?… Keith Urban on American Idol!If Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are the feuding siblings in the dysfunctional American Idol family, fellow judge Keith is no doubt the cut up.
At a recent press event for the show’s new season, Mariah and Nicki spoke highly of the country megastar’s sense of humor.
“He’s hilarious,” Nicki said. “I’m serious, you guys. He has this dry sarcastic humor. Very quick!”
Mariah was quick to agree. “It relieves you of a moment sometimes,” she added, alluding to Keith’s ability to remain neutral during moments of mayhem on the panel.
The show’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe to USA Today Keith is “the scratching post between Mariah and Nicki.”
American Idol kicks off season 12 January 16th.
