VIDEO: Luke Bryan Named New ACM Host
Posted: Jan 08, 2013
Just in… Luke Bryan will join Blake Shelton as the new co-host of the Academy of Country Music Awards, set for April 7 on CBS.
Blake joked he “had to take what [he] could get,” and in what is surely a taste of the ACM interactions to come, now Luke is firing back with a few jabs of his own.
“I got a feeling that the ACMs really knew what they were doing when they chose someone like me,” Luke jokes in the video. “Someone who’s well spoken from the south, someone who’s maintained their country roots, hasn’t moved out to LA and left us all behind in Nashville, someone that can relate to the fans, and someone that will help pick Blake up… keep the show rolling for when it may be slipping away from him. Good job, ACM!”
Brad Paisley has also been announced as the host of the 3rd Annual ACM Fan Jam, which will happen at The Orleans Arena the same day as the ACMs. The live remote allows fans to interact during the live broadcast of the awards.
Fans took part in a “Tweet to Unlock” campaign to expose the news Luke Bryan would join Blake. After 25,000 tweets, the ACM broke the news.
Now fans can “Tweet to Unlock” a special message from ACM Fan Jam host Brad. More information at www.ACMsocialsplash.com.
