• Country Gets Some ‘Golden Globe’ Love

    Posted: Dec 13, 2012

The nominees for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards were revealed this morning, and two of country’s biggest superstars could be taking home a Globe.

Keith Urban, who also earned a nomination from the Critics’ Choice Awards this week, got a nod in the “Best Original Song” category alongside newly 23-year-old Taylor Swift, who raked in hers in the same category thanks to her contribution to this year’s Hunger Games blockbuster.

“Best birthday surprise EVER-just found out that Safe&Sound is nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!! Thank you @goldenglobes and HFPA! #hungergames,” Taylor tweeted.

Keith’s recognition comes for “For You” from the flick Act of Valor. Keith will surely attend the Golden Globe party with his wife Nicole, who is also nominated for an honor in the “Best Supporting Actress” for her role in The Paperboy.

More country cred at the Globes… Nashville actresses Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere also received nominations for “Best Actress in a TV drama” and “Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie,” respectively.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the 70th Annual Golden Globes Sunday, Jan. 13, at 8PM Eastern on NBC.

In other Taylor Swift and Keith Urban news, the pair has something else in common.

Just announced today… the two will join Tim McGraw on a track from his new album Two Lanes of Freedom.

Tim, Taylor and Keith sing together on “Highway Don’t Care,” described as a “breezy yet complex track.”

It sits at No. 13 on the album as a nod to Taylor. Two Lanes of Freedom drops February 5th.
