• Jason Aldean Turned Down Luke Bryan’s Smash

Luke Bryan’s hit song “Drunk On You” earned him another No. 1 song to his name, but the song was nearly on the Night Train to another country superstar.

Jason Aldean reveals in a new interview he was offered the song for his new album Night Train… but he turned it down.

“[My producer’s] playing me these songs and I heard this one song that I dug,” Jason says, “but it wasn’t really what I was looking for at the time and [I] just kind of tossed it aside like, ‘Eh, it’s okay.’”

The song went on to be more than okay for Luke, who took it to the No. 1 spot on the charts. But Jason mentions the song ended up where it belonged, just like his hit “Big Green Tractor.”

“‘Big Green Tractor’ was pitched to Jake Owen, he passed on it, we got it and four-week number one with it,” he says. “I think certain songs like that fall into the right hands for a reason.”

One song Jason and Luke can agree on, though, is Jason’s current single “The Only Way I Know – Luke and Eric Church sing with Jason on the track.
