Scotty McCreery is kick starting the Christmas season into high gear with a little help from some Hollywood friends.

The country star and former Idol winner will join new AI judge Mariah Carey, The Voice coach Cee Lo Green and others in New York City’s Rockefeller Center to light the iconic 80-foot Christmas tree, which has been placed in the same spot in New York City since 1933.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center will also star Trace Adkins and hosts Savannah Guthrie and Al Rocker from the Today show.

Former country superstar who’ve helped light the more than 30,000 lights are Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Rascal Flatts.

Scotty is currently promoting his new album Christmas with Scotty McCreery.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center airs Wednesday, November 28 at 8pm ET on NBC.
