    Posted: Nov 12, 2012

The newest James Bond blockbuster to hit the box office has flown into record-breaking status…

Skyfall blew the box office out of the water this weekend, earning nearly $88 million in its domestic debut over the weekend, and about a half-billion worldwide!

The James Bond adventure flick set a franchise record, destroying the series opening-weekend mark of $68 million held by Quantum of Solace in 2008.

Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln looked about as big as it could on 11 screens, earning $900,000 with a per-screen average of $81,818.

Wreck-It-Ralph and Denzel Washington’s Flight held steady in their second weekends, and Ben Affleck’s Argo maintained its strength in its fifth weekend.

Pitch Perfect sang its way back into the Top 10, climbing over Paranormal Activity 4 and Sinister.

    Here’s the weekend’s Top 10:

    1. Skyfall, $87.8 million
    2. Wreck-It Ralph, $33.1 million
    3. Flight, $15.1 million
    4. Argo, $6.7 million
    5. Taken 2, $4 million
