The 2012 CMT Artists of the Year special is just around the corner, and Rascal Flatts will join forces to host with one Hollywood actress with certain ties to Nashville…

Hayden Panettiere, star of ABC’s hot new show Nashville, will host the third annual event with the Flatts.

Jay DeMarcus admits that they “are honored to be co-hosting the CMT Artists of the Year with Hayden. Save the cheerleader, host a TV show,” he says, referencing Hayden’s longtime role as “Claire Bennet” in Heroes.

This year’s big honorees are… being kept under wraps until the show airs this December!
