• Taylor Swift Tried out for Broadway?

    Posted: Nov 06, 2012

Before Taylor Swift was selling a million albums in one week, the country megastar tried her hand at some sing-and-dance opportunities.

The Red songstress reveals to NPR’s “All Things Considered” that her love of storytelling first led her to New York City and the big Broadway stage.

“I started out with community theater, like local theater. I loved being on stage. I loved telling a story through words and music,” she says. “I actually ended up going to auditions in New York for Broadway stuff.”

But Broadway wasn’t where Taylor fit.

“What I ended up coming back to is… I always was just so obsessed with the storytelling in country music,” she adds.

The singer just announced the first stops on her 2013 “Red Tour,” which kicks off March 13th in Omaha, Nebraska.
