Birthday boy Keith Urban turns 45 today, and we have good reason to believe he could be spending his big day with”¦ pimento-cheese sandwiches?

It’s no urban myth that Keith is currently pulling double duty on American Idol as a new judge while also in the studio writing brand-new country tunes.

One of Keith’s writing buddies revealed to People magazine Keith’s secret writing weapon.

“We’ll hop into his old pick-up truck, drive into Leipers Fork [outside of Nashville] for fried pimento-cheese sandwiches. There’s a hit song in every fried pimento-cheese sandwich,” Keith’s longtime co-writing buddy Monty Powell says.

Monty also dishes to the mag Keith usually loses focus in the studio around 1 p.m. “It’s a low-blood sugar thing,” Monty says. The solution?

A fresh pimento-cheese sandwich.

Keith Urban’s other job over at the biggest reality singing show on TV is making more headlines.

American Idol execs just announced the show’s new season will premiere Jan. 16 and 17.

A new promo pic of the show’s cast, including Keith and reported feuding judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, also hit the web.
