Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift Playing Piggyback?
Posted: Oct 26, 2012
What’s got Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift playing a little game of piggyback? No, it’s not a throwback to a fun childhood game. Both Jason and Taylor have released big albums within the last two weeks”¦ and it looks like they’re depending on each other to sell copies!
Jason recently revealed to reporters he and Taylor have made a habit out of riding each other’s coattails.
“I think you piggyback off each other in situations like that,” he says. “It’s a great time to put records out, but if you can keep driving country music fans”¦ to buy new records and yours is staring them in the face, you’re going to have a better chance of getting them to buy one.”
Jason’s album Night Train hit shelves first last week, and Taylor’s new one Red dropped this week. And this isn’t the first time the country megastars have released new discs nearly simultaneously.
In 2009, Taylor’s was first to put out her million-selling-in-a-week album Speak Now, and Jason followed the next week with his juggernaut of an hit My Kinda Party.
