Lisa Marie Presley meant it when she said she was done fighting her legacy as the only child to rock and roll king Elvis Presley.
The video for Lisa Marie’s duet with Elvis I Love You Because premiered today on CMT, marking the 35th anniversary of her father’s death.
Originally intended to only be viewed by about 25,000 fans at the 35th Anniversary Concert in Memphis, the video features never-before-seen family photos of Lisa Marie’s four children as well as photos of Lisa Marie and Elvis.
“We were really moved when we saw this video during Lisa Marie’s recent Nashville visit, and we asked if we could premiere this to fans on CMT,” said SVP of Music Strategy at CMT. “Lisa Marie and her team were thrilled and so gracious to allow this to be shared with our fans.”
I Love You Because was first recorded by Elvis on July 4 and 5, 1954 at SUN Studio, and was released on his first album in 1956.
The new version is available for purchase digitally, and the full video will be available on iTunes on October 25. Lisa Marie also announced that she will be touring for two weeks in November in support of her new album Storm & Grace, starting November 1 and ending November 17.
