The super group has swirled to the top of the country music mountain with their latest album Tornado, but even with all the recent success, LBT reveals to Billboard there’re still not naming a lead singer.
“We were the only game in town with both girls and guys,” the group’s Karen Fairchild says, “and we didn’t want to pick one singer.”
After all, some of the most iconic bands in music history had no true lead singer.
“It worked for the Beatles,” she says, “and it worked for Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, so why couldn’t it work in country music?”
And it eventually did”¦ but not without 10 years of hard work.
Karen discloses that the group “stuck to [its] guns” and, in time, they discovered “the sound that everybody knows now.”
The group’s new single is the album’s title track “Tornado.”
