    Posted: Oct 10, 2012

Voting has officially opened for the 2012 American Country Awards, and the competition is fierce!

Luke Bryan has racked up seven nominations, putting him at the front of the pack for this year’s awards.

Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band are hot on his heels, with each earning six nominations each, followed closely by Taylor Swift and Eric Church who have snagged five each.

The voting for the two-hour live music gala, which is hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, is open until Monday, November 12 for all categories, except for “Artist of the Year”, which closes on Friday, December 7.

A “Song of the Year” category has been added to this year’s show, as an attempt to recognize the behind-the-scenes work done by the tunesmiths who create the songs.
