Posted: Sep 27, 2012
Reba has been the face of the Academy of Country Music Awards since 1999, but in 2013, she’s calling it quits…
The fiery redhead revealed to CountryWeekly.com she will not return to her hosting duties for the next ACMs“¦ but someone else is!
“[I've] passed the torch to Blake,” she says. “I’m a huge Blake Shelton fan.”
Blake and Reba have co-hosted the Las Vegas party for the past two years. Blake called hosting with Reba for the first time “a very special moment.”
“She is not only a mentor to me but a true friend,” Blake says. “She continually supports other artists, which is a testament really to her beauty and talent.”
Is Blake now the lone ACM ranger? Or could he be joined by a new co-host, like ““ say ““ his outspoken wife Miranda Lambert?
No official word on that yet.
One thing’s for sure: Reba isn’t leaving your TV sets altogether. The country legend has begun shooting her new sitcom Malibu Country, which premieres this November on ABC.
The ACMs return April 2013.
