Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan Announce CMA Noms
Posted: Sep 05, 2012
Summer tour mates Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan were together once again this morning on Good Morning America to announce the nominees for the 46th Annual CMA Awards.
Luke filled in last minute for Lady Antebellum, who was originally scheduled to join Jason to make share the big country news. The trio’s flight to New York City was delayed due to bad weather.
Eric Church leads the nominations with a total of five, while Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are tied for second with four nominations each.
Jason’s name was announced several times, included for the “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Single of the Year” categories, but it was his nod for “Entertainer of the Year” that had the country superstar beaming.
“It’s been an amazing couple of year,” Jason says. “Our shows…have been incredible and obviously that’s a big award of the night, and one every artist would love to have.”
Luke received two of his own for “Album of the Year” for his Platinum Tailgates & Tanlines and for “Male Vocalist of the Year.”
“To cap the year off with some CMA Award nominations is pretty amazing,” Luke says. “We never take any of this stuff for granted. This is a good day.”
The 46th Annual CMA Awards airs November 1st from Nashville. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host for the fifth consecutive year.
Jason and Luke announced half the nominees, and the rest were read at B.B. King Blues Club in New York City later in the morning.
