After all, her chart-smashing hit songs all offer insight into Taylor’s trials and tribulations in the dating world.

And her advice didn’t stop in a new interview with MTV.

The “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer revealed just how long a broken heart should stay broken.

“Just take the amount of time you were together and times it by 2″¦ or 7,” Taylor jokes.

Something that didn’t take as long was writing her latest break-up anthem. Taylor also dishes on how “Never Ever” came to life”¦ but she’s still not naming names.

“We just created this song in 30 minutes. It came from a very real place”¦ and a very spontaneous situation.”

The singer shares a friend of her ex-boyfriend’s barged into the studio and asked if she and her ex were ever getting back together.

Taylor’s response?

We are never ever getting back together!
