Keith Urban is the latest country star rumored to take a seat next to Mariah Carey on American Idol. But is it official yet?

Keith’s not so sure yet.

The country megastar revealed during a radio interview in Australia that Idol did, in fact, “reach out to [him].”

“But they’ve been reaching out to a lot of people,” he says, “so I think they are just figuring out which way they are going to go.”

What’s definitely on the horizon for Keith is a new album. That’s his focus right now, he says.

“It’s strange how these opportunities seem to all come in one big fell swoop.”

So far the only confirmed judge for the new Idol season is Mariah Carey. Other celebs rumored to fill the empty slot are Nicki Minaj, Enrique Iglesias and even Brad Paisley.
