Nicki Minaj Is the New ‘Idol’ Judge, Reports Say

Several sources are confirming that Nicki Minaj is the newest judge on American Idol, and which country star could be next?
According to Us Weekly, a source confirmed that the “Super Bass” singer is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.”
“I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” says another source. ”A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”
Keith Urban is reportedly the next leading candidate to fill a vacant seat on the show.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, a show insider reveals Keith is the top contender to sit next to Nicki and Mariah Carey.
Since former judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez stepped down from their positions, several country stars have been speculated to help revamp the Idol panel, including Brad Paisley and Toby Keith.
As far as longtime judge Randy Jackson’s future on the show, no official announcement has been made. He’s rumored to take on a mentor role in the next season, which premieres January 2013.
