One thing’s for sure… Hunter Hayes isn’t like most soon-to-be 21 year olds.

The country newcomer turns the big 2-1 next month, just five days before he hits the road with country superstar Carrie Underwood.

How’s that for a 21st birthday celebration?

Hunter will open for Carrie’s “Blown Away Tour,” and he says it’s finally sinking in that he’ll be the opening act on such a huge tour.

“Just saw the first renderings of our new stage set additions,” he tweeted recently.

Hunter will also perform on the National Anthem September 9th, the day of his birthday, for the New Orleans Saints season opener.

The “Blown Away Tour” kicks off September 14th in Manchester, New Hampshire.
