Mariah Carey has signed on to judge the next season of American Idol, and the paycheck that comes along with the gig is like none other!

Reportedly, Mariah will earn a whopping $18 million judging one season of the show. That paycheck is more than any other judge on any other singing competition show.

New X-Factor judge Britney Spears will bring in $16 million, while Christina Aguilera makes a measly $10 million on The Voice.

Mariah’s Idol predecessor Jennifer Lopez brought in $12 million per year on the show. J. Lo thinks the addition of Mariah to the table is a good one.

“She has a lot of experience,” says Jennifer. “And it’s that experience you offer them at the end of the day, the contestants just want to get better and grow through the process.”

Idol auditions are currently underway, but Mariah won’t make her first appearance until January.
