Congrats to Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts and his wife Allison on the birth of their second child…

The couple welcomed a baby boy, Dylan Jay DeMarcus, born at approximately 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, according to CBS.

When the Rascal Flatts bassist learned his wife was having the baby, he jumped on a place from Detroit, where he was on a tour stop on the trio’s “Changed Tour.”

Luckily, Jay arrived at the hospital in time to see baby Dylan’s arrival. After the baby was born, Jay jumped back on the plane to Detroit and performed – still in hospital scrubs – with the boys of Rascal Flatts.

Jay described the pregnancy as “a huge surprise,” according to the Huffington Post.

Jay’s wife is a former Miss Tennessee and current on-air CMT personality. The couple welcomed their first child, Madeline Leigh, back in December of 2010.
