Someone from Jake Owen’s past thinks he’s a lot like the brother of the sun…

Jake reveals to Billboard that one of his high school girlfriends used to compare him to Kenny Chesney.

But Jake jokes that she “meant it very sarcastically.”

He may not be Kenny Chesney, but he’s now one of the opening acts for Kenny and Tim McGraw’s co-headlining concerts.

But Jake remembers being just another fan when Kenny and Tim first toured together.

“I was a guy on the street ten years ago when they were touring together,” Jake says, “and I was watching the show from the grass with my friends.”

Jake will open the “Brothers of the Sun Tour” alongside Grace Potter and the Nocturnals all summer long.
