Which Movie Ruled the Box Office This Weekend?

Was it a clan of critters or a league of aliens who reigned supreme at the movies this weekend?It was Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted leading Prometheus at the box office this weekend.
The third installment of the circus animal flick brought in an estimated 60 point 4 million dollars, while Prometheus pulled in 50 million.
Madagascar 3, which earned an additional 75 million dollars internationally, reunites voices Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith and David Schwimmer as the movie’s star cuddly critters.
The flick’s box office results outdid the 2005 original but couldn’t beat the 63 million dollar debut of the first sequel, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
1. “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted,” $60.4 million ($75.5 million international)
2. “Prometheus,” $50 million ($39.2 million international)
3. “Snow White & the Huntsman,” $23 million ($24.6 million international)
4. “Men in Black 3,” $13.5 million ($38.3 million international)
5. “The Avengers,” $10.8 million ($7.8 million international)
