Carrie Underwood recently filmed her guest appearance for an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. Now she  is heading to the movies!

Carrie Underwood will play the role of a church youth leader in an upcoming inspirational film, Soul Surfer. Filming will take place in February. The film is based on the life of Bethany Hamilton, a champion surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack when she was 13. The movie stars Anna Sophia Robb (as Hamilton), Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid (as the surfer’s parents) and Lorraine Nicholson and Kevin Sorbo (as family friends Alana and Holt Blanchard).
