NBC REACHES DEAL WITH CONAN

Posted: Jan 21, 2010

It’s official! Conan O’Brien and NBC have made an agreement, costing the network more than $45 million.

This morning, NBC announced that Conan O’Brien would be receiving $45 million as a settlement for him getting the boot from The Tonight Show. Conan will pocket around $33 million, while his nearly 200-person staff will receive the rest.

Conan’s final show will air tomorrow night with guests Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell and Neil Young. Ferrell was on the first episode of The Tonight Show with Conan as the host last June.

Conan will be able to move on to other projects after September 1, 2010. His characters, such as Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will not be able to leave NBC.
