Garth Brooks announces he is coming out of retirement and heading to Las Vegas!
Garth Brooks made a second announcement today after a press conference this morning where he said he was coming out of retirement. He then boarded a private jet with close to 40 members of the press and headed to Las Vegas. Then, in the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas, he and Steve Wynn , CEO of Wynn Resorts, announced that the country superstar would be playing an engagement in that very venue.
Wynn has given Garth a private jet that will allow him to play weekend shows and fly home to take his three daughters to school Monday through Friday. Garth will play one show Friday nights, two on Saturday and one more on Sunday. The first show will take place on December 11th with tickets going on sale on October 24th at 8 AM for $125 a pop. The engagement will run for 15 weeks a year for the next five years. Garth’s stint includes playing January 1-3rd, 2010.
The concerts will be a more toned-down version of traditional Garth concerts. Garth said he would be the performer and the band, making it more of a one-man-type show. However, he later alluded to the fact that it will also be an “anything goes” type situation, so audiences will never know what to expect.
